“O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.” – Psalm 107:1. “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples, and I will sing praises to you among the nations.” – Psalm 108:3. “We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks; your name is near. People tell of your wondrous deeds.” – Psalm 75:1.

My dear brothers and sisters, from the time we were conceived in the womb of our mother till this very moment, the Lord has protected us from all evil, accidents, untimely deaths, diseases, sicknesses; the Lord has provided us all our needs, wants, desires, food, clothing, shelter; the Lord has guided us through all our struggles, our weaknesses our plans and our decisions; and how many times we have really thanked the Lord, our God, Jesus Christ? This is one question we really need to ask ourselves.

“Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.” – 1 Jn 3:4. “But if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 Jn 1:9

All of us, human beings, fall into sin. There is no one in this world who is good and perfect and free from sin. For the Word of God itself tells us, “There is no one who is righteous, not even one.” – Rom 3:10. “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” – 1 Jn 1:10.

Jesus says “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” – John 8:12. “If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” – 1 John 1:7. Jesus has called us a “chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” – 1 Pet 2:9

“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved.” - Acts 4:12. And that is why, “at the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Phil 2:10-11.

Yes, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ; Jesus only is our true God and Savior through whom we can attain eternal life. “Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9
