Having a thankful attitude helps us to enjoy over everyday life in-spite of our difficulties. We can decide each morning to have a good attitude throughout the day. A good attitude makes the best out of anything in life. It is not easy to have a good attitude always but the more we need God, the more we experience His power in our lives. Being a positive person will always make us happy. The most common question asked is how to be thankful when things are not going well. We can be thankful if we believe “all things together work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). We need to know that God has a good plan for us, “for surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm” (Jeremiah 29:11).
Complaining attitude makes God angry. We read in Old Testament the Israelites complained about their food, “If only we had meat to eat! We remember the fish we used to eat in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions and the garlic but now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at” (Numbers 11:4-6). God set in motion a wind that drove quail in from the sea. The people gathered and prepared the quail. “But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was consumed, the anger of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very great plague” (Numbers 11:33-34). There the people who craved food other than manna were buried.
God’s got a plan for each one of us individually. His plan for your friend is not the same as it is for you. Even before we were formed in our mother’s womb God knew us. “Your hands have made and fashioned me” (Psalm 119:73).We need to thank God because “He forgives our iniquities” (Psalm 103:3), “His love endures forever” (Psalm 139:1), “He is gracious and merciful” (Psalm 111:4). Also we need to think about our past blessing and thank God, (Psalm 75:1). “We need to know everything that God created is good, nothing is to be rejected, provided it is received with thanks giving” (1 Timothy 4:4). Whenever we give thanks to God “we need to give it with our whole heart” (Psalm 9:1). Finally we need to know that “In his book are written all the days that were formed for me” (Psalm 139:16), avoid being selfish and be joyful in the LORD.
