“You do not even know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” – James 4:14. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. Only God knows. Because God is our Creator. He is omnipotent. He is omniscient. He is beyond time. Even what has not happened, God knows it. When we are in God’s hands, then we need not worry about tomorrow. Jesus himself says, “So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” – Matthew 6:34.
There are so many fortune-tellers who predict the future. They only forecast and speak but they do not really know whether it will happen or no. People believe in zodiac signs which tells what happens in the next few weeks. But the word of God tells, “do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” – Proverbs 27:1.
So do not believe in zodiac signs or fortune tellers or anyone who says that they can predict the future. Just like king David we all need to say, “my times are in your hand.” – Psalm 31:15. “Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord, you know it completely.” – Psalm 139:4.
Jesus explains this very well in the parable of the rich fool. The rich man gathers all his produce of his crops and stores them in his barns. And he is happy that he has enough for many years to come. “But God said to him, you fool. This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared whose will they be?” Luke 12:20. Instead of trusting in our Creator, in the Jehovah Jireh who provides all our needs, in the only True God and Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ; we run to human beings for security, we run to material things for our pleasure, we run to food and drink for our satisfaction.
Now is the time, my dear brothers and sisters, to turn to God for all our needs, to trust in him in all our plans. God says, “For surely I know the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” - Jeremiah 29:11.
“Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayers and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6.
