My dear brothers and sisters, in today’s world it is very difficult to find someone who is faithful; whether a friend, a spouse, an employee, a worker or anyone. Some time or the other that person will become unfaithful to you. And this is the time we try to search for the one who is always faithful. He is none other than our Lord Jesus Christ. As St. Paul says to the Thessalonians, “The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:24.
There is an English hymn which goes like this “Jesus never fails, Jesus never fails. Man of the world will let you down, but Jesus never fails.” True to the words, Jesus will never fail you, my brothers. Jesus will never fail you, my dear sisters. The material things in this world can never give you permanent satisfaction or it will never remain faithful of being with you at all times because, “the world and its desires are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever.” – 1 John 2:17. No human being can tell you that I will always be with you or I will always remain faithful to you. Some day or the other that person will fall away from his words. But the word says, “know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.” – Deuteronomy 7:9. And Jesus says, “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20.
“God is Faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Corinthians 1:9. “Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.” – Hebrews 10:23. When we say God is faithful, it means he is completely trustworthy. He is perfectly faithful. And there is absolutely no doubt in this.
“Your steadfast love extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds.” – Psalm 36:5. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23.
I can go on and on because God’s faithfulness is true and he has shown His faithfulness to many his people, like Abraham, Moses, David and many more. No matter whatever we go through, God is faithful. Even when we push him away, he sticks with us. When we go through hard times make a mistake or feel stuck in some circumstances; this will not change the faithfulness that God will show us.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have. For he has said I will never leave you or forsake you. So we can say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” -Hebrews 13:5-6.
So my dear brothers and sisters, be grateful that God is always Faithful because he is God and not a human being. “If we are faithless, he remains faithful – for he cannot deny himself.” – 2 Timothy 2:13.
