“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known” – Jer 33:3. The is a very big promise the Lord is giving his children. Whenever we call on to him he surely answers us in his time and in his ways according to his will which is always for our good.
King David trusted in the Lord God alone and always called on to him and received blessings. “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies.” – Psalm 18:3. “In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I called for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.” – Psalm 18:6. “I sought the Lord and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.” – Psalm 34:4. “This poor soul cried, and was heard by the Lord, and was saved from every trouble.” – Psalm 34:6
“In the day of my trouble I call on you, for you will answer me.” – Psalm 86:7. “When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them and honor them.” – Psalm 91:15.
Jesus promises us in the new testament, “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks, receives, and everyone who searches, finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” – Matt 7:7-8. So, my dear brothers and sisters, instead of calling on to human beings in time of our distress, let us call on to Jesus and believe that he answers our every prayer.
Let us hold on to the promise Jesus gives us, “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it.” – John 14:13-14
