Just yesterday, someone told me, years ago, a priest visited them and prayed for the family. The poor family had nothing to give to him except a few coins. The priest got angry with them for giving him so little, so he refused to take that money and told them to buy peanuts and give to the children. This incident reminded me of what Jesus had said about the poor widow, in the gospels. “A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny”. Then he called his disciples and said to them “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury, for all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on” (Mk. 12:42-22).

Many of us believe, only what our eyes see. But the spiritual realities have to be understood by the word of God and experienced by faith. And that is why St. Paul says “We walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Cor 5:7). So, it is our faith in God and belief in the word of God, which will reveal the mysteries of the kingdom of God. one such spiritual reality is the presence of Angels in our life. Yes! Angels are real and they are created by God. we read in the letter of Hebrews “Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?” (Heb. 1:14). So angels are the spirits, hence they are  not visible to our eyes, yet they are serving God and his children. When I was a child, I was taught to seek the help of my guardian angels. So, I use to pray for their help and for their assistance. Even today, I don’t fail to pray to them and believe, they have been always with me to guard me and protect me. And that is what, Psalm 91  says “He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm. 91:11)

A popular saying, which is often quoted is this “Early to bed, early to rise, makes one healthy, wealthy and wise”. Time has changed now, instead people go to bed late and rise up late and therefore lot of time wasted and we do  not realize the consequences of it. Yes! My dear friends, an opportunity missed is missed forever. So, do not delay in doing things on time. There is a small saying which says “stitch in time, save nine”. So, let us learn to do things on time. Lazy people live in misery. An idle mind is devil’s workshop. Therefore the word of God tells us “Go to the ant, you lazybones; consider its ways, and be wise, without having any chief, or officer or ruler, it prepares its food in summer, and gathers its sustenance in harvest, how long will you lie there, o lazybones? when will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, A little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed warrior” (Prov. 6:6-11).

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5. The Lord chooses people to do his work. For we read in the book of Chronicles, “My sons, do not now be negligent, for the Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence to minister to him, and to be his ministers and make offerings to him.” – 2 Chronicles 29:11. “We have priests ministering to the Lord. They offer to the Lord every morning and every evening burnt offerings and fragrant incense.” – 2 Chronicles 13:10-11. “They taught the people having the book of the law of the Lord with them.” – 2 Chronicles 17:9. In this way, my dear brothers and sisters, the Lord chooses his people to work in his kingdom, to proclaim his word, and to bring the lost back to him.
