Last Sunday, we had the Gospel reading on feeding the five thousand from St. John’s Gospel chapter 6:1-14. Many will have gone for Sunday mass and listened to the boring, baseless and self-imagined, preaching of the preacher. Hence the Lord told me ‘Feed my sheep’ Jn. 21:15. Yes! My dear brothers and sisters, “The Lord is our shepherd and he feeds us with the green pastures and leads us to the fresh waters” Psalm. 23:1-2. ‘Feeding the Five Thousand’ this passage, should enlighten us and make us realize that the Lord, who is our shepherd, wants to feed us daily with the heavenly manna, which is the word of God and with fresh waters, which is his life giving spirit. When he fed those 5,000 men, besides many women and children, Jesus performed that miracle with 2 fish and 5 loaves. Even today he wants to feed us with the same. What are those 5 loaves? They are nothing but the first five books of the Holy Bible, and what are those 2 fish? They are the two testaments? Old Testament and the New Testament. If you feed just 5,000 men alone with this food, besides millions of women and children, still the remaining will be collected in 12 baskets, for further distribution. These 12 baskets were given to 12 disciples by Jesus. So that, they would continue to feed many more with Word of God.

The word of God tells us “Do not appear before the Lord empty-handed, for all that you offer is in fulfillment of the commandment. The offering of the righteous enriches the altar, and its pleasing odor rises before the Most High. The sacrifice of the righteous is acceptable, and will never be forgotten. Be generous when you worship the Lord, and do not stint the first fruits of your hands” – Sirach. 35:6-10

Many of us do not understand the importance of tithes or one-tenth. God says that one-tenth of everything that we have belong to him. “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house” – Malachi. 8:10

The greatest enemy of every man here on earth is fear. Fear rules most of the people in the world. Everyone is frightened of one or the other factor, in life. Fear of death, sickness, failure, being caught in unfaithfulness, etc. Lots of people are frightened about the future. What will happen, tomorrow and what will I do, if the situation comes tomorrow? For all these problems, my dear, the only solution is, Trust in God. “He will not fail you or forsake you. For he says I will never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews. 13:5). So if you take his word seriously, I mean, if you believe in his word, you can confidently say “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid, what can anyone do to me?” (Hebrews. 13:6)

Every human person, here on earth, desires power and honour richness, position, name and fame and in order to achieve that he or she strives day and night, and when one does not get what he or she wants, he lives in sorrow and sadness. My dear brothers and sisters, what this world offers to us does not stay with us forever. What power or position, we get from people is temporary and that is why we see everywhere fights and troubles in political, social, institutional placements. There is fight and injustice and destruction for the sake of power and recognitions. Hence, the word of God, tells us, do not desire this world and its glory, that will pass away. It will not remain forever. The rich will become poor, master will be a slave, ruler will be ruled, minister will have to be an ordinary citizen, so on and so forth. Hence seek glory and honour, power and authority from God, in order to serve him and honour him. We read, Jesus gave this power and authority in the Gospel. “All authority in Heaven and on Earth, God has given to me, go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Mt. 28: 28-29). The authority, what the disciples received from Jesus was permanent. The authority God gave to his prophets was permanent. We need today authority from God to overcome all evil. Jesus says “See I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of enemy, and nothing will hurt you” (Luke. 10:19)

TESTIMONIALS

OH HOLY SPIRIT

Spirit of wisdom have control over me,
Keep me from distractions while I do God's will,
When trials come I will stand still,
For you are my refuge in the times of evil.

Let my whole body glorify my God,
With all my substances I will magnify my Lord,
I will bless the Lord with all my heart,
I will stand at his court writing and singing new songs.

Spirit of God you are my friend,
A very help in times of need,
I want you in every work which I undertake,
So that I may do only what is God's will is.

Sanctify my soul with your fire,
Take away from me all who are liars,
Let your glory shine in every corners of my life,
And my mouth will shout only the joyous cry.

WHEN WE ARE DEAD

When we are dead,
We sleep on bed,
Where worms are our friend,
This all our soul won't care.

We go to sleep,
Where we can't feel,
What the world is doing,
What the world is thinking.

Our God laughs sitting in the heaven
When people being so foolish,
Praying for their dead fellow's spirit,
This is of no use please understand ye people.

After death there is no chance,
To reconcile, to repent and to be get cleansed.
This life is unique, which God have gifted us.
Live it to get more closer to Christ Jesus, the way towards our Heavenly Father

Pray for those who are dead,
Dead in the sense who are slaves serving this evil world,
Pray that may God save their soul,
So that while living they may gain that eternal abode.
