“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you” – John 14:15-17
About a thousand people gathered at Divine Community Centre, Kenchankere on 26th May 2012 from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. to experience this “Spirit of Truth”. The Lord poured out his Spirit upon all the people, young, old, men, women and children as he promised in Joel 2:28-29.
The retreat started at 8.00 a.m. with praise and worship. All people joined in praising God and singing hymns in thanksgiving.
The Word of God was shared by Rev. Fr. Jerry Sequeira and Bro. Paul.
As the Word says, “For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” – 1 Corinthians 11:26. In remembrance, the Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jerry Sequeira.
The sick, the suffering, the depressed, the dis-heartened were all at the Lord’s feet for an hour’s adoration. The people surrendered themselves totally to the Lord and prayed for one another and left the place being filled with love, joy, peace and the “Spirit of Truth”.
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” – Acts 1:8
