Many of us believe, only what our eyes see. But the spiritual realities have to be understood by the word of God and experienced by faith. And that is why St. Paul says “We walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Cor 5:7). So, it is our faith in God and belief in the word of God, which will reveal the mysteries of the kingdom of God. one such spiritual reality is the presence of Angels in our life. Yes! Angels are real and they are created by God. we read in the letter of Hebrews “Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?” (Heb. 1:14). So angels are the spirits, hence they are  not visible to our eyes, yet they are serving God and his children. When I was a child, I was taught to seek the help of my guardian angels. So, I use to pray for their help and for their assistance. Even today, I don’t fail to pray to them and believe, they have been always with me to guard me and protect me. And that is what, Psalm 91  says “He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm. 91:11)

Angels are given, varied duties in God’s service. Hence we have Arch angel Michael and his angels, who defend God’s kingdom. We read in the book of Revelation “And war broke out in heaven; St. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon” (Rev. 12:7). Gabriel and his angels are the messengers. They deliver God’s message to God’s children. We read in the bible “In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by god, to a town in Galilee called Nazreth, to a virgin called Mary” (Luke. 1:26). Raphael and his angels are assisting God’s children, in all their journeys. We read in the book of Tobit “Tobias went out to look for a man, to go with him to Media, someone who was acquainted with the way. He went out and found, the angel Raphael standing in front of him” (Tobit. 5:4). Similarly, we have multitude of angels who sing God’s glory, unceasingly. It is written “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those who he favours” (Luke. 2:13-14).

So, dear brothers and sisters, angels are real. And therefore we pray to them, seek their help and protection and also celebrate their feast on 29th September and on 2nd October every year. May the guardian angels, whom God has appointed, to protect you, be with you, althroughout your life journey. Amen.
